Sweet 17th

When I was 15-20 years old, I listened to punk rock, black metal and etc. I still like some of the bands, but now i realise that it comes with a specific need and goes away with the same need. But it feels just great to be back for a moment, to live this life again, slamming, drinking beers… Anyway, two bands performed yesterday, one Czech (Cílená nejistota) and one Belarusian (Dzieciuki). I’d say, as you probably know, in Punk Rock it doesn’t really matter how well you play the guitar, but… I don’t know, i just prefer professionals.

I didn’t understand what were they singing about, but you can listen to it yourself:

Second band was much better, first of all, the instruments… One of them plays banjo and another bagpipes – unusual for punk rock, but sound really nice. The lyrics also, mostly about Anti-fascism and guerrillas, which is close to me, considering my nationality. But some funny songs also 🙂 They deserve a bigger stage, but can’t perform in Belarus, because of the lyrics.

Back to Israel

I wasn’t born in Israel, but that doesn’t mean I can’t like Israeli music, of course I can’t say I love it or smth, but can you really say you love some music genre? I mean, if you say that you love classical music, it involves you loving all the classical music, doesn’t it?

That was nice to revive this “Back to Israel” feeling for a while, thanks to Idan Rachel. It’s fun, when some songs give you that feeling.

I also liked his experiment with laptop vocal. He was traveling all around the world, recording different artists, and now he brings their voice to public, no matter where and when 🙂

Le bal des Fleurs

Another concert / private gig I visited few weeks ago was given by Vesna Caceres (Czech artist). She plays accordion and sings.

This is a video from other concert, notice her husband with bass guitar, wearing t-shirt, designed by me 🙂

Back to the topic, good performance, really nice voice. The only thing I didn’t like is the format of these gig. You can’t talk, you can’t drink beer normally… These restrictions put in some kind of a frame, limiting your ability to concentrate on the sound (sound’s stupid, but when something disturbs your mind…)

Belarusian chanson

When it comes to listening, i usually like to experiment… I’ve visited Zmicier Vajciuszkievicz concert in Prague, he presented his new album, where he performs mostly chanson songs. It was a nice performance, i really liked it 🙂 Even though it was just a guitar, he managed to fill the place with appropriate mood. Check out this song.

And one more thing, i don’t usually buy CD’s, but when it comes to artists, wich don’t have promoters and etc., i usually do buy their CD’s to support the band / artist.
